Bank No ChexSystems
Walking on Pins and Needles
Let’s see here, you’re a normal person, with a normal income, and a normal brain. Just like us. We all make mistakes occasionally. But heaven forbid you make a mistake with eFunds’ ChexSystems! The way they stigmatize you for your mistakes, they might as well go ahead and implant you with a subcutaneous chip, for crying out loud! It’s really hard these days to find a bank no ChexSystems software has infiltrated, but that is exactly what you need to do if you value your ability to bank at all.
Bouncing a check was already a total pain in the neck before these guys came along and turned it into what virtually amounts to a serious crime. There’s no debtor’s prison in this country, and it’s for a reason, but that’s no reason for us to expect that financial organizations like eFunds’ ChexSystems wouldn’t mete out their own kind of “justice”. The world is a poorer, more desperate place with this type of oppressive plutocracy.
Fat Chance
There’s as much hope for real change to our abusive financial system in general as there is for getting anything critical or substantial accomplished by calling the ChexSystems contact number; none whatsoever. What’s your average Joe to do? Repeat after me: Bank No ChexSystems!
Does that slogan even make sense? Yes it sounds a little Yoda-ish, but we think it really captures the feeling. If you value financial freedom at all, and we assume you do if you’re reading this, then you shouldn’t put your money into or do business with any bank that employs ChexSystems software.
Do a little Research
This strategy makes even more sense if you have run amok of the “system”. There are plenty of banks out there – about 20 percent total – that aren’t so lazy and idiotic that they need to use some kind of software to figure out what kind of banking client you really are. These are the types of banks with whom you want to do business anyway, not some impersonal, automated machine run by a clan of malicious sociopaths.
We have no idea what it is going to take to actually get things back in the consumers’ corner across the board. Things seem to be reverting back to 19th century standards. For now, we can’t do anything except what is available for us to do. There’s not much out there. You’re not going to get anything accomplished by calling ChexSystems’ contact number, that’s for sure. Oh, yeah, they’ll send you a detailed list that will probably make you feel more unnecessarily like a criminal than you did before. Why on earth would you want to do that? It’s just a waste of paper.
Get it Together
Do something real… make a difference. Tell your bank “No ChexSystems”, and put your money somewhere where they actually care about their customers. Of course, banks can be very tricky with their wording. As a rule of thumb, the less they have to hide, like hidden account tracking technology, the more you should like them. Don’t be afraid to ask your representative for as much information as you need. Your livelihood could depend upon it.
